Vincent G. Harris presently holds the position of the University Distinguished Professor and William Lincoln Smith Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University (Boston, MA USA). He is the Founder and Director of the Center for Microwave Magnetics and Integrated Circuits (CM3IC). Prior to holding these positions, he was the Head of a section at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL, Washington, DC) and held the position of National Research Council Fellow at the NRL. He is the Visiting Scientist of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Sensors Directorate, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH USA.
Harris is the Chair of the Boston chapter of IEEE Magnetics Society and was named an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer. His research interests encompass microwave magnetics, devices and systems used principally in high frequency applications such as sensors, radar and communication systems and platforms. He has published more than 350 technical articles in peer-reviewed science and engineering journals, including book chapters, review articles, and invited technical feature articles. He places in the top 1% of the most-cited engineers and scientists worldwide over the last decade with h=48 and total citations exceeding 9500.
He is a Fellow of the AAAS, IEEE, IET, APS, and IOP.
