报告题目:Optical modulators and tunable filters based on silicon-graphene hybrid structure

内容提要:Graphene is considered to be a promising material to build active optoelectronic device. In this talk, we firstly review recent research progress on the optoelectronic devices based on silicon-graphene hybrid struture. Then we present our works on the optical modulators and tunable filters. By tuning the fermi level of the graphene, we demonstrate a silicon-graphene micro-ring electro-optic (EO) modulator with modulation depth about 40%. We also propose a nanobeam EO modulator and a spatial light modulator based on silicon-graphene hybrid structure. Their speed is calculated to be higher than 45 GHz. Thanks to the high thermo-conductivity of graphene, we demonstrate a thermo-optic tunable filter with heating efficiency about 1.5 nm/mW.

报告人简介:上海交通大学电子信息与电气工程学院副教授。分别于2005年和2007年获清华大学学士学位和硕士学位,2013年获美国Rice University博士学位。20141月到20146月在Rice University做博士后研究,20148月加入上海交通大学。研究方向为硅基/石墨烯光电子器件。目前在光学领域发表期刊和会议论文60篇,其中第一作者/通信作者期刊论文12篇,论文被SCI他引380余次(Web of Science 检索)。近三年发表期刊论文19篇,包括1Nano Letters(第一作者,IF=13.779)。在The 7th International Conference on Metamaterials, Photonic Crystals and Plasmonics(META 2016)Optoelectronics Global Conference 2016(OGC 2016) The 9th International Conference on Information Optics and Photonics (CIOP 2017)各做了一次特邀报告,担任国际会议OECC 2015ICOCN 2015OECC 2017 的技术委员会委员,担任 Journal of Nanomaterials 的客座编辑和IEEE 光子学会上海分会的副主席。邱辞源曾获2012年国家优秀自费留学生奖学金。
