Energy-efficient Decentralized Multi-agent Coordination via Event-triggered Control

The problem of distributed coordination for multi-agent systems has been widely studied because of their useful applications in broad areas such as unmanned vehicles, mobile robots, drone networks, and wireless cloud communications. In these applications, groups of agents consent on certain quantities of interest through local communications and computation. An ideal decentralized algorithm is expected to reach the optimal solution with minimal communication and computation costs. Nevertheless, the communication-computation tradeoff is essential. This talk presents some recent results on energy-efficient schemes for decentralized consensus optimization through event-triggered control and communication censoring.

报告人简介(Short Biography of the Speaker):

Dr. Zhi Tian (IEEE Fellow, has been a Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of George Mason University since 2015. Previously she was on the faculty of Michigan Technological University. Her research interests lie in statistical signal processing, wireless communications, and decentralized network optimization. She is an IEEE Fellow. She is Chair of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Big Data Special Interest Group, and a past member of the SPCOM Technical Committee. She was General Co-Chair of the IEEE GlobalSIP Conference in 2016. She served as an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer, and Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing.
