Scientific Research and Academic Integrity

Codes of Ethics are guidelines to professional conduct. These codes are designed to help professionals uphold the highest level of ethical conduct and maintain standards of practice and integrity pertaining to their professional duties. Generally, these guidelines include but not limited to protecting the public interest, demonstrating professional competence, preserving confidentiality, attending to conflict of interest and perpetuating social responsibility. This talk shall emphasize the university code of ethics, and give a number of typical misconduct cases and the possible consequences.

Pingzhi Fan (IEEE Fellow) FAN Pingzhi, received his PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from the Hull University, UK. He is currently a professor and director of the institute of mobile communications, Southwest Jiaotong University, China. He is a recipient of the UK ORS Award and the NSFC Outstanding Young Scientist Award, and the chief scientist of a National 973 major research project. He has over 290 research papers published in various academic English journals, and 8 books (incl. edited) published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd/RSP etc. His current research interests include wireless networks for big data, high mobility wireless communications, 5G technologies,  signal design & coding, etc. He is a fellow of IEEE and IET(IEE), CIE and CIC, and an IEEE VTS Distinguished Lecturer (2015-2019).
