Xiaohu Tang, Ph.D, Professor. Dr Tang has received his PhD degree in electronic engineering in 2001 from Southwest Jiaotong University. From 2003 to 2004, he was a research associate in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. From 2007 to 2008, he was a guest professor at University of Ulm, Germany. Dr. Tang was the recipient of the National excellent Doctoral Dissertation award in 2003 (China), New Century Excellent Talents Fellowship of Ministry of Education in 2004, the Humboldt Research Fellowship in 2007 (Germany), Outstanding Young Scientist Award in 2013 (Chinese NSFC). He acts as the principle investigator for several high-level projects, such as NSFC projects, Key Grant Project of Chinese Ministry of Education, and the Innovative Research Team of Sichuan Province, etc. He has published more than 80 research papers on top international journals and conferences, including 32 papers on IEEE Transactions on Information Theory. He also serves as the Chair of IT Chapter, IEEE Chengdu section.
