GONG Xun was born in Hunan province, P.R. China, in 1980. He received the B.Sc.(Eng.) degree in Computer Science and Technology from the Beijing Technology and Business University, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree from the Southwest Jiaotong University, in 2008. Currently, He is an Associate Professor at the School of Information Science and Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University. He participated in several research projects funded by NSF, Fundamental Research Fundings, etc. He is a reviewer of IJCIS,ACTA AUTOMATICA SINIC, Chinese Journal of Electronics, etc. He has published over 30 papers in international journals and conferences, and authored and edited one book titiled "Human face cognition, from 2D to 3D"(Science Press, Nov. 2011).

His research interests include 3D face synthesis, face recognition, feature tracking and object modelling and animation, and intelligent video surveillance.
