报告题目:Photonic integrated circuits for optical communications and microwave photonics

报告摘要:Broadband and low attenuation capabilities of optical fibers have led to an ever-increasing interest in their use for communication and microwave systems. In order to fully exploit the bandwidth offered by optical fibers, optical signal processing using photonic integrated circuits (PICs) has been proposed to achieve higher capacity, lower cost, size and power consumption. In this work, we investigate feasible PICs approaches for high spectral efficiency optical communications and wide-band microwave photonics. For high spectral efficiency optical systems, we firstly report the characterisation of a silicon orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmitter including four modulators and a Fourier transform, and then demonstrate Nyquist pulse generation using a finite impulse response filter chip. Lastly, we illustrate a ring resonator assisted-tapped delay line circuit for Nyquist wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) receiver. For wide-band microwave subsystems, an integrated tunable delay line that overcomes the delay-dependent loss is verified, and an integrated microwave photonic method of a binary-phase-coded millimeter-wave signal generation is demonstrated.

报告人简介:谢意维,澳大利亚莫纳什大学工学博士。研究方向主要是:光纤通信,微波光子学,光芯片,数字信号处理,光信号处理。担任Optics Express和Optics Letters等国际刊物的审稿人。曾作为主要参与人完成澳洲研究理事会Laureate Fellowships项目“为实现高速、节能光通信系统和微波光子学,结合电子和光学的混合学科研发”,并作为光芯片微波光子学小组负责人参与由悉尼大学、RMIT大学、澳大利亚国立大学、麦考瑞大学合作项目“光系统中超高带宽期间的研发(Cudos)”。博士期间曾在全球最大光芯片制造研究所之一德国Fraunhofer HHI实习。近年以第一作者身份在国际重要学术期刊和会议上已发表相关的SCI、EI收录论文十余篇。
